Biography
About Me
Hey there! I’m Jack! Lifelong muso, gear nut, and your go-to guy for all things guitar setup and repair.
I actually started out as a drummer (still am at heart), but everything changed the day I saw Marc Bolan of T. REX on the TV, sitting cross-legged on stage, flipping his mic stand upside down, and belting out acoustic tunes like a glam-folk wizard. That moment lit a spark.. I had to learn guitar.
We had an old electric guitar at home, and I knew a few power chords, but that wasn’t going to cut it. I wanted to really play. So, I spent hours drilling open chords, pushing through finger blisters, and slowly falling in love with the instrument.
My first proper guitar was a Japanese-made Fender MG65 Mustang in Daphne Blue. It’s still my favourite, even after all the gear that’s passed through my hands. These days, I’ve built up a small collection of Fender's. But my real passion lies in making guitars play beautifully.
I started learning how to set up my own gear out of necessity (any Jazzmaster or Jaguar owner will know the struggle), and it quickly became a bit of an obsession. I found myself swapping out pickups, fiddling with bridges, and tweaking every little detail until things felt just right. Eventually, I started setting up mates’ guitars too, and after a few years of that, I decided it was time branch out and open up shop.
Now, I help fellow musos get their guitars playing exactly how they want. Whether you're a beginner looking for a smooth-playing first axe, or a seasoned pro chasing perfect intonation and custom tweaks, I’ve got you covered.
Pop into the workshop, have a yarn, and let’s get your guitar feeling better than ever.
Cheers,
Jack.
Drummer turned guitar nerd, proudly helping your gear play its best.

1997 Fender American Standard Stratocaster
This one is owned by a dear friend of mine. He's had it since new, and it's always been his #1.
It came in needing an output jack replacement, along with a deep clean, fret polishing, clean up of the pots, re-adjust the volume and tone knobs (so wobbly!).
Some fresh 10-46's and it was sent back home after a quick check of the intonation and action.
Here's some before and afters!
2021 Squier Contemporary Stratocaster Special
Another band mate's guitar.
This one came in needing a change of gauge from 9's to 10's (owned by a bass player that would press them out of tune) and a basic setup to fix some intonation issues.
Truss rod adjusted for the heavier gauge of strings, action set, and a good oiling of a very dry fretboard.
Deep clean and a fret polish, and off she goes!
